Fins and Things - The First Trail You Should Do In Moab
Share
This was the first trial I completed on my trip to Moab. We liked to so much we actually came back on another day and did half the trail again. And that was after we already did 2 other trails that day. It made for about 12 hours of Offroad that day. Fins and things was such a great way to kick off Moab. It was a moderate difficulty trail so it was a great warm up for my Jeep. Lesser built vehicles might not consider this a warm up though. I had such a great time on the slick rock. The closest thing I’ve been on to it was in Sedona on Broken Arrow. It felt like you were driving on one giant rock. It was smooth and grippy. Once thing I loved about this trail was how many small hill climbs and decents there were. My Jeep kept impressing me with how easily it made it up them! That’s the slick rock for ya! The fins were unique because it was almost like riding on a slow moving rollercoaster. You could see down the fins off in the distance the two black lines that acted as tracks. You always knew where you were going. I also can’t say enough about how beautiful this trail is. You can see miles in all directions of amazing landscape. We did the trail in late July. July was hot but I think it was the because we had the trails to ourselves! This trail took about 4 hours to tackle. This trail was my buddies favorite trail in Moab and we did 8 trails. I think the only one I liked more was hells revenge. But you’ll wanna do this one before that to get you used to the slick rock if you’ve never been. I will say this was my 2nd favorite trail in all of Moab..at least of the trails I’ve done so far.
