Highway to Hell!

Highway to Hell is by far the most difficult trail I have ever done. It is one of the hardest in Arizona. Trails Offroad considers it an extreme trail and for good reason. Technically I did not complete this trail because I had to stack rocks and take a bypass or two. In my opinion that doesn't fully count! It means I will need to return one day when my Gladiator is more built up to handle it! That being said, this was a very fun trail with lots of fun obstacles. The entire trail you are on your toes and paying attention. You cannot take a moment off cause you could slam into a boulder quite easily if you're not paying attention. The major obstacles will require picking the best line possible for your build. Luckily there was really only one obstacle that posed much a threat to cause body damage. In our Group we lost 4 fenders and 2 tails lights! Not too bad, but still you dont want damage. Rock sliders are a must on this trail. You will use them, a lot. I also think skid plates are needed too. You'll encounter steep rock waterfalls and boulders that you'll scrap around and over. Be sure to go in a group so you can all help spot and even winch out of a situation if you need it. If you have lockers though, you shouldn't need a winch. I would also recommend at least 37" tires. Expect a long day too. It took us about 5 hours to complete. That doesn't include the time it took taking trails to get to this trail. You also have to drive back! Overall it was stressful at times but very, very rewarding to get though it!
