Steel Bender - Great Moab Trial that Will Test Your Build
Share
As I edited my video for Steel Bender I remembered just how great of a trail it was. There is a reason it is a badge of honor trail. There was so much variety in scenery as well as many opportunities to test my Jeep Build. The trial starts out with some amazing views as you descend into a valley of wheat. Then you've got some creek crossings and immediately dumped into a canyon. The walls shoot straight up on both sides and must be 150 feet tall. Its beautiful. After about 2 miles of easy trail, you difficultly turns up. There are ledges and rock faces that you have to make it up. It's cool cause there are multiple lines you can take with all different levels of difficulty. This trail is a 5/7 and I think that is spot on. The most notable obstacle is called "the Wall." I actually found this to be quite easy. It looks intimidating but with front/rear lockers and 38" ties it was a breeze. I also think the long wheelbase of my Gladiator actually helped me on this trail far more than it hurt. I actually wanna make a video/blog post about that one day cause the more I drive the Gladiator the more I like the long wheel base. Most of this trail is slow going because of all the rocks. There are a few sections where it's sandy and smooth but I would say 80% is rocky. Overall I really loved this trail. With the exception of maybe one obstacle I did all the most difficult lines. I am glad I decided to do this trail!
